In working with adolescents and children, I use another Adlerian principle stated by Rudolf Dreikurs: “Encouragement for children is like water for plants.”
Two of the important needs of preadults are connection (safety) and validation (self-esteem and self-confidence), and through encouragement both needs are met.
Robert is an Adlerian psychotherapist and works at the Adeomed clinic with children from the earliest ages, adolescents, as well as adults.
