Lecturer Dr. Cristina Căpățână – senior endocrinologist, PhD in medicine, university assistant at the Department of Endocrinology of the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest.
She graduated from the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest in 1999, became a specialist endocrinologist in 2007, and a senior consultant in 2013. She received two scholarships for specialty training at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom (within the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism) – the Erasmus scholarship and the British Endocrine Society scholarship. She completed four specialty training internships at the Rigshospitalet University Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark (Department of Endocrinology), and at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, between 2007–2013.
She has extensive clinical experience, having cared for over 800 patients with endocrine disorders annually.
She is the author of over 35 papers published in ISI-indexed journals, actively involved in research projects, and a member of editorial boards or reviewer for over 20 prestigious international endocrinology journals. Her professional interests include, in particular, hypothalamic-pituitary disorders, endocrine oncology, adrenal and thyroid pathology.
