Dr. Laura David

Dr. Laura David chose the specialty of Allergology and Clinical Immunology at a time when this field was just beginning to take shape in Romania. It was only the second year in which allergy specialists were being trained through the residency program, in a specialization lasting five years.
It was a bold choice and a challenge from the very beginning, even during her medical training. Driven by the desire to become as well-prepared as possible in a field with very few specialists at that time, Dr. Laura David consistently participated in conferences, congresses, symposiums, summer schools, and training courses both in Romania and abroad. Throughout her career, she has become an active member of the Romanian and European societies of allergology, remaining deeply involved in the ongoing advancement of knowledge and medical practice in this field.

She believes that allergology is a specialty in which the doctor becomes a true detective: piecing together information, patiently searching for additional clues, and finding answers and solutions — often without having access to tests that can definitively confirm a diagnosis.
What fascinates her most is the opportunity to work with patients of all ages — from infants to the elderly — learning alongside each of them what it means to be allergic and how many different forms an allergic condition can take, even in the same individual.
In a field where there are more exceptions than rules, and where new developments emerge rapidly, the unpredictable nature of allergies keeps her constantly engaged, alert, and committed to lifelong learning.
