Dr. Maria Speranta Iacob

Lecturer Dr. Maria Speranța Iacob is a senior gastroenterologist at the Fundeni Clinical Institute in Bucharest, with a strong academic and clinical career, supported by remarkable scientific activity. She is a lecturer at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy and holds a PhD in Medical Sciences, with a thesis focused on recurrent hepatitis C after liver transplantation.
With extensive professional experience in gastroenterology, hepatology, and liver transplantation, Dr. has completed multiple international training programs, including in Germany and the Netherlands, and holds the European Diploma in Transplant Medicine. She is the author and co-author of over 60 articles in ISI-indexed journals and 39 in BDI publications, as well as contributor to over 350 scientific presentations and 27 books or book chapters.
She is an active member of numerous European and international scientific societies, including EBTM-UEMS, ESOT, TTS, EASL, and RoALD, where she also holds leadership positions. Her work reflects a consistent commitment to research, medical education, and clinical excellence in the field of gastroenterology and liver transplantation.
