In parallel with his clinical and academic activity, he carries out impressive scientific work, being the co-discoverer of telocytes together with the team of Academician Laurențiu M. Popescu – a contribution internationally recognized in cell biology and regenerative medicine. He has published over 170 ISI-indexed articles, has a Hirsch index of 50 (Google Scholar), and more than 8,100 international citations.
He coordinates large-scale strategic projects in the field of genomics. He was also one of the initiators of the national ROGEN initiative – “Development of Genomic Research in Romania”.
